Artists journey into the beauty of the desert as they create a mixed-media Desert Landscape Wall Hanging inspired by rugged landscapes and fascinating desert wildlife. Using watercolor and patterned acrylic paint techniques, artists will design a colorful desert background filled with warm skies, layered land and rich textures. They’ll practice observation drawing as they sketch and paint desert animals, then cut out bumpy cactus from cardboard pieces. To complete their artwork, artists will use wood, beads and string to transform their desert scene into a decorative wall hanging that combines painting and collage into a mixed-media masterpiece.
