Class meets weekly to complete projects that help students build skills in drawing, painting, perspective and design.
High-Flying Adventure Painting
Artists paint a bold, textural landscape using cake tempera, then construct a pop-out plane that literally takes flight above the page. Their pilot (human or animal) peeks from the open cockpit with a cheerful wave, giving the whole piece an irresistible personality that is dynamic, colorful, and full of kid-powered whimsy.

Dessert Plate Painting
Take a seat at the dessert table with a painting that sets a sweet scene, complete with a place setting with the cake or pie slice of your choice. Include a printed doily for a little extra touch of texture and whimsy and finish off with a set of shiny, cut out utensils.

Warhol Cats
Do you like cats? So did Andy Warhol. Learn about the POP ART movement by creating art prints using bright colors, everyday objects and cool tools inspired by American artist, Andy Warhol.
